Description
This easy homemade cheese sauce is a quick, easy-to-make creamy sauce, made with simple ingredients. It is ready in minutes, which you can serve as a dip from broccoli to bread and with other veggies or even use as topping over baked potatoes, nachos, chips, French fries, etc.

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
- 1 garlic clove (crushed) optional
- ¼ teaspoon chilli powder (optional)
- 2½ cups milk
- A pinch of salt
- 4 nos. cheese slices
Instructions
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat for 20 seconds approx.
- Add all-purpose flour. Stirring continuously till flour turns lightly golden in color.
- Add crushed garlic, chilli powder and quickly mix.
- Add milk and let the milk come to a boil. Continue to stir and once it boils, simmer for 2 minutes until it thickens.
- Add a pinch of salt.
- Switch off the flame.
- Add cheese slices. Keep stirring it for a minute.
- Now, take a blender jar and transfer this sauce into the jar.
- Blend it in pulse mode till it is smooth and creamy in texture.
- Transfer it into a bowl and serve.
Notes
- Stir constantly while pouring the milk to avoid not to form any lumps and you get a nice airy creamy sauce.
- You can use any variety of cheese for this recipe, but be sure to use full-fat cheese in it.
- In this recipe, garlic, chilli powder is optional.
- If the sauce becomes too thick, add more milk as per your desired consistency.
- You can store this sauce for up to one week in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
