Scale
Ingredients
- 2 cups cluster beans (cut into small pieces)
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder (adjust according to your spice preference)
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon garam masala
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves for garnish
Instructions
- Wash the cluster beans thoroughly and trim the ends. Cut them into small pieces.
- Heat oil in a pan or skillet over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then add cumin seeds and let them crackle.
- Add the cluster beans to the pan and sauté for about 5 minutes until they turn slightly tender.
- Sprinkle turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt over the cluster beans. Mix well to coat the beans with the spices evenly.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and cook for another 10-15 minutes or until the cluster beans are completely cooked. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking or burning.
- Once the cluster beans are cooked, remove the lid and increase the heat to medium-high. Stir-fry for an additional 2-3 minutes to give them a slightly crispy texture.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and remove from heat.
- Transfer it to a serving dish and serve hot with rice or roti.
- Cluster Beans Fry is ready to be served.
Notes
- Make sure to trim the ends of the cluster beans before cooking to remove any tough parts.
- If you prefer a spicier dish, you can increase the amount of red chili powder or add chopped green chilies.
- Be careful not to overcook the cluster beans, as they can become mushy. They should be tender but still retain their shape and texture.
