Description
Indian spiced tea or masala chai is one of the most consuming drinks amongst many Indians in the middle of summer or for cozying up during winter, made in just 15 minutes with water, ginger, whole spices, black tea leaves, milk and sugar.

Ingredients
- 2½ cups water
- ½ inch ginger, peeled & crushed
- 2 green cardamom pods
- 2 cloves
- ½ inch cinnamon stick
- 2 teaspoons black tea leaves
- 1½ cups whole milk
- 3–4 teaspoons sugar or as needed
Instructions
- Take the whole spices into a mortar-pestle and crush them coarsely and keep aside.
- Now pour the water in a teapot.
- Let the water come to a boil.
- Then add crushed ginger, and the spices.
- Bring this to a boil .
- Add black tea leaves and let it boil for about 2-3 minutes until the tea leaves and spices release flavour and colour.
- Then pour the milk and let it boil until it starts bubbling to the top.
- Mix in the sugar or desired sweetener according to taste and boil for a minute.
- Turn off the heat and using a tea strainer, filter the chai directly into cups.
- Serve masala chai hot with some cookies, snacks or biscuits.
