Paan shots are a rich, mouth freshener cool drink made with betal leaves, gulkand, red cherry, shredded coconut, and vanilla ice cream. A perfect treat that can be served after a heavy meal like dinner etc. Enjoy this with your friends and family on holi feast or any festive occasion.
Ingredients
- 4 betel (paan) leaves
- 4 tablespoons gulkand
- 3 teaspoons fennel seeds
- 2 teaspoons desiccated coconut
- 2–3 fresh cherries
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 3 scoops vanilla ice cream
- 8–10 ice cubes
- A drop of green food colour (optional)
Instructions
-
Take out the stems from the paan leaves, then tear the leaves.
-
Now put them in the blender jar along with other remaining ingredients and blend them everything for a few seconds until it turns smooth.
-
Then transfer this into a glass jug and keep it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes at least.
-
Once it is chilled, mix well and serve it into small glasses.
-
Serve chilled after dinner.
Notes
- Remember, paan shots are best served chilled. Always store it in the freezer, if you make this in advance, let it thaw before serving.
- Instead of ice cream, you can use whipped cream too.
- While blending, you must know that there should be a bit of texture in the drink so that you will get the same flavour and mouthfeel that comes when eating a paan.
- To serve, using your finger or paper towel, grease the rim of the glass with a bit of water and then apply shredded coconut.
