  • Use a slotted spoon to remove the cranberries from the syrup and then transfer them to a parchment lined baking sheet or on a cooling to drain. Let the cranberries dry at least for 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Roll the cranberries in the remaining 1 cup sugar to coat, a few at a time in the sugar until fully coated.
  • When the sugar is dried completely on the cranberries, this beautiful candy ready to store.
  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature in a cool, dry place for up to 2 days.
  • Enjoy!

Notes

  • Wash and dry the cranberries well because on to the dry cranberries the syrup will stick better.
  • Let the syrup simmer on low heat for 3 minutes after it’s come to a boil. The sugar must completely dissolve and form a slightly thickened syrup for coating the cranberries.
  • When to choose the cranberries for candies, discard any soft or squishy ones. They won’t give taste good!
  • The Best Sugar for Cranberries is granulated sugar because it gives the cranberries an even coating, but you can also use cane sugar.
  • If you find that sugar starts looking moist, you can re-roll them in a little more sugar to freshen them up.
