Notes

  • For the best taste, make use of fresh ripe and sweet mangoes for making lassi.
  • For me, Alphonso mangoes are the best, but if you don’t find them easily than you can choose any variety of mangoes. You may use readymade mango pulp, frozen mangos, or canned mangoes too.
  • The plain full fat yogurt is used to make mango lassi, which gives a creamy consistency. But you can make it using low fat-fat yogurt too. Greek yogurt works well in this recipe as well, only add some water to get the right consistency. To make a vegan lassi version, use almond yogurt, cashew yogurt or coconut milk yogurt. Use fresh yogurt and not sour to make this lassi.
  • Adjust the amount of sugar depending on the sweetness of mangoes and curd. Alternatively, you could also use honey coconut sugar, palm sugar, jaggery and maple syrup.
  • If the mango lassi is too thick, you can add water if required.
  • The color of the lassi will depend on the variety of mango you use.
  • To give more exotic flavor, add a pinch of cardamom powder.
  • Additionally, this Mango Lassi can be kept refrigerated for up to 24 hours.
