Description

These No-Bake Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars are healthy and delicious made using only 5 ingredients like – creamy peanut butter, honey, vanilla, oats and chocolate chips!

Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup honey or brown sugar
  • 3 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Put a medium saucepan on flame, add peanut butter and honey.
  • Cook and stir constantly over medium flame until melted.
  • Add vanilla extract and mix until combined well.
  • Turn off the heat.
  • While hot, add oats and mix together until everything is evenly incorporated.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared greased 8×8 baking dish and press evenly.
  • Add little chocolate chips on top.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight (until it firms up).
  • Let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • To get the extra crunch and firm texture, always toast the oats before adding to the mixture.
  • Instead of using honey, you can also use dark brown sugar. It works similarly to honey.
  • It is better to line the baking dish with parchment paper so that you can easily lift out the oats bars. Cut them into small squares and wrap them individually in plastic wrap and freeze them for easy grab-and-go snacks.
  • Adding chocolate chips is optional but it adds a great taste.
  • You can store bars in the fridge for up to 2 weeks or in the freezer for up to 3 months or in an airtight container at room temperature for about 4-5 days. Make sure, they’re cooled completely before storing.
