Badam Phirni is a rich rice pudding similar to kheer but more creamier, smoother, and thicker consistency with full of goodness of Badam. Generally, dry fruits are mainly used to make any sweet dish in our Indian kitchen. What is more important that these dry fruits have rich and more nutritious, but are also low in calories at the same time. Almond is one of such dry fruit which is used to make phirni or a kheer, a perfect blend of almonds cooked with ground rice, sugar and milk. It becomes more delicious when crushed almond paste is used, which makes this sweet dish nutritionally delicious.

This is a famous North Indian dessert recipe made from milk and almonds, which you can make without much effort with the help of easily available ingredients at home. This recipe is delicious as well as very healthy, it is very high in vitamins, minerals and fiber. This recipe is favorite dish of children and of all ages. If you are organizing a house party, and family gathering at your home, then this recipe is a great option, by which you can impress your guests with your cooking skills.

Phirni can be made in many ways. Today we are going to tell you the recipe of making Badam phirni. Learn how to make easy badam phirni or kheer.

Badam Phirni

Serves: Serve 4
Cooking time: 30 minutes

Ingredients

  • 500 ml milk
  • 1/2 ml milkmaid
  • 1 cup chopped almonds (badam)
  • 1/2 tbsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 cup soaked rice

Instructions

  1. In a heavy bottom pan, boil milk.
  2. Grind soaked rice in a mixer grinder.
  3. When the milk boils, lower the flame and add the rice paste and stir constantly to ensure it gets properly mixed in the milk and no lumps are formed.
  4. Keep cooking the milk and rice mixture on low flame till the rice gets cooked and the milk thickens.
  5. Now add chopped almonds, cardamom powder and let this mixture boil for sometime. Once this mixture is thoroughly boiled add milkmaid and keep stirring.
  6. After the mixture is ready, and the rice is cooked, pour them to a small bowls and garnish with chopped almonds on top of it.
  7. Chill them in the fridge for 2 hours so that it sets.
