Hot Chocolate Coffee: The Perfect Winter Drink
When it is cold outside, it is hard to choose between a sweet Hot Chocolate or a strong Coffee.
Why pick just one? This Hot Chocolate Coffee gives you the best of both worlds. It mixes the creamy taste of chocolate with the strong kick of coffee. Plus, we make it with a homemade jaggery premix, which makes it healthier and tastier than store-bought mixes.
About the Recipe
This drink is a tasty mix of two favorites. It has a thick and creamy hot chocolate base made from a homemade mix of milk powder, cocoa, dark chocolate, and jaggery. To make it special, we add a layer of frothy coffee foam on top.
It is like a homemade, better version of a “Mocha,” but with the natural sweetness of jaggery and a hint of warm cinnamon. It is a cafe-style drink that you can make easily in your own kitchen.
Taste and Texture
- Taste: The base is rich and chocolatey. The jaggery gives it a caramel-like flavor, and the cinnamon adds a warm spice. The coffee foam on top is strong and bitter, which balances the sweet chocolate perfectly.
- Texture: The hot chocolate is thick, smooth, and creamy. It feels a bit like a light pudding because of the corn flour. The coffee foam is light and airy. Drinking it feels like having a dessert and a coffee together!
Easy to Prepare
This drink looks fancy, but it is very simple to make. The secret is the Hot Chocolate Premix.
You just mix the dry ingredients and chocolate once to make the premix. You can store this in a jar. Whenever you want a drink, just heat some milk, whisk in the premix, and top it with coffee foam. It takes only a few minutes to make a high-quality drink.
Ingredients
Every ingredient has an important job in this recipe:
- Milk Powder & Cornflour: The milk powder makes it creamy. The cornflour makes the drink thick, so it feels rich and smooth.
- Jaggery Powder: This is our healthy sweetener. Unlike white sugar, it adds a natural, earthy taste that goes great with chocolate.
- Cocoa Powder & Dark Chocolate: Cocoa gives the main chocolate flavor, and the grated dark chocolate makes it extra rich and glossy.
- Cinnamon Powder: A small pinch of spice that makes the chocolate taste even better.
- Instant Coffee: We use this to make the frothy foam on top, just like a cappuccino.
Serving Suggestions
- Serve this in a clear glass mug. It looks beautiful because you can see the layers of brown foam and dark chocolate milk.
- Sprinkle some grated dark chocolate or cocoa powder on top.
- Serve it with cookies or a slice of cake for a perfect snack time.
Variations
- Vegan Version: Use plant-based milk powder (like oat or almond) and almond milk instead of dairy milk.
- Cold Drink: You can make this with ice in summer for a cold treat.
Storage Suggestions
- The dry premix is very useful. Keep it in an airtight glass jar in a cool, dry place. It stays fresh for weeks. If your home is very hot, you can keep it in the fridge.
- Hot Chocolate Coffee tastes best when it is fresh and hot. The foam might settle after some time, so try to drink it right after you make it.
So, this Hot Chocolate Coffee is more than just a drink; it is a treat. It brings the sweetness of dessert and the energy of coffee into one cup. Since the premix is easy to make and store, you can enjoy a cafe-style drink anytime without spending too much money. So, warm up the milk, whisk the foam, and enjoy your new favorite winter drink.
