Description

Bananas are a great option for a first solid food for babies. This banana puree is perfect to give when you are short on time and want to give your baby something healthy and tasty, this no-cook banana food puree is great for 4 months and up.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 ripe banana
  • Water or breastmilk or formula milk as required

Instructions

  • First, peel the ripe banana, trim the ends with a knife.
  • Now cut into small round pieces and place it in a blender jar or food processor.
  • Add water/breastmilk/formula milk. Blend well until you get a creamy smooth puree.
  • Alternatively, you can mash the bananas well (without any chunks) with a fork or using a spatula.
  • Transfer the puree to a serving bowl.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • To make this puree, always look for bananas that have a nice yellow colour with fewer brown spots. Green bananas or under-ripe do not have the same flavour or creamy consistency and also harder to digest for your baby.
  • Stop feeding the bananas to your baby if the baby is constipated or got cold while introducing a particular banana variety.
  • If the banana is ripe than you don’t need to use any processor or blender. You can simply mash it with a fork. Add water, breast milk or formula milk to get the desired consistency and texture.
  • If you want to freeze the puree, add a few drops of fresh lemon or orange juice. This helps prevent the puree from browning.
  • Prep Time: 5 mins
  • Cook Time: 5 mins
