- 1 1/2 cups Gram flour (besan)
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
- 1 Onion finely chopped
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
- Oil for cooking
- Tomato ketchup to serve
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together gram flour, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, green chillies, cumin powder, onion and salt with sufficient water to make a fine batter.
- Add carom seeds and whisk well.
- Heat some oil in a non-stick pan.
- Pour a ladleful of batter on it, spread into a disc and cook, turning sides, till well browned on both sides.
- Make more omelettes similarly.
- Serve with tomato ketchup or tea.
