Do you want to make a quick and perfect party appetizer or starter, different from your regular snack instead of just sandwiches? If yes, than enjoy this extremely delicious Bread 65 recipe, prepared in the same way as Paneer 65 or Mushroom 65 or Gobi 65 etc.

About this recipe

If you have some leftover bread slices or even fresh one in your kitchen and you want to make use of them than do try this “Bread 65” they are so crispy, delicious and spicy in flavor. Moreover, it is so easy to make and looks so tempting. A perfect party appetizer or snack or breakfast. It’s also kid’s friendly recipe which can be given as in their lunch box.
Typically, this recipe is prepared with paneer, gobhi, aloo, Idli or chicken but to give it a little twist, I am preparing Bread 65 here.

How to make Bread 65

You just require only a few basic ingredients that can help you to fill your empty stomach.

  • Some leftover bread, veggies, ginger, garlic and chilli sauce to make this recipe.
  • Simply, roast the bread until it is crisp.
  • Add a little bit oil in a pan and fry the ginger, garlic and your favorite veggies.
  • Then add sauces and crispy bread. This is how you can make this quick and easy snack bread 65 recipe.

Traditionally the recipe uses a batter in which you dip the bread pieces and deep fry them. But this recipe only needs roasting the bread and so it hassle free and healthy too since no frying is involved.

Serving Suggestions
This dish is a great option for kid’s tiffin box and so much loved by them. It can be served as a party snack or starter. The best part is that you can serve this Bread 65 on the unexpected guests arrival.

Description

A simple, quick, and appetizing snack made using leftover bread slices, veggies, ginger, garlic, and chilli sauce. It is quite similar to the South Indian Bread upma dish but different in flavor and tempering. It is a perfect party appetizer or evening snack, easy to prepare as it hardly takes minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 8 bread slices (cube into small bite size pieces)

For bread 65

  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ginger finely chopped
  • 1 medium onion cubes
  • 2 green chillies slit lengthwise and deseeded
  • 1 capsicum cubes
  • 1 red bell pepper cubes (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Few curry leaves
  • 1 teaspoon green chilli sauce
  • 1 teaspoon red chilli sauce
  • 1 teaspoons red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar

For slurry

  • ¼ cup water
  • 2 teaspoons corn flour

For garnishing

  • Spring onion greens.

Instructions

Roasting bread

  • Heat oil in a frying pan, add bread slices cut into small bite-size square pieces.
  • Roast the bread pieces until they turn golden brown and crisp. Set them aside.

For bread 65

  • Take a pan, heat oil, fry chopped garlic, and ginger for a few seconds.
  • Now add onion, green chillies, and fry until translucent.
  • Then add capsicum, red bell pepper, and fry everything for a few minutes.
  • Add curry leaves, salt, green chilli sauce, red chilli sauce to the pan.
  • Mix cornflour with water and make a slurry. Mix well so that there are no lumps remain.
  • Add this slurry mix along with red chilli powder, vinegar to the pan and mix everything well.
  • Now, add the toasted bread pieces into the prepared mixture and gently mix it again.
  • Garnish with some chopped spring onion greens.
  • This extremely delicious and spicy bread 65 is now ready.
  • Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Instead of white bread, you can use any other bread-like whole wheat bread or multigrain bread, etc.
  • This dish tastes best when served immediately, otherwise, the bread can get soggy.
  • You can make similarly paneer 65, gobhi 65, or aloo 65, etc. by switching few ingredients.
  • According to your spice level, adjust the spiciness.
  • Additionally, you can add the veggies of your choice like corn, bell peppers, carrots, etc.
