Roasted Caramelized Almonds are a healthy, flavorsome snack or can be used as the topping of any sweet or savory dishes like salads, brownies, cookies, granola, casseroles, cakes, etc which adds a beautiful texture, sweet and nutty taste to the dish. These homemade roasted caramelized almonds will surely become your favorite munching snacks.

This is not just quick and easy to make, but it is a healthy snack because it is high in protein and has many nutritional values.

Here, I’m sharing with you the detailed recipe of roasted caramelized almonds below.

About the Recipe

In this recipe, we have cooked almonds in a honey syrup and then coated them with brown sugar. Traditionally, people make use of granulated white sugar for roasted caramelized almonds. But, here I have replaced it with Brown sugar.

During festivity or any official occasion, we generally receive a gift hamper or goodie bags that are either filled with candied nuts or Roasted caramelized Almonds.

Caramelized Almonds are the perfect snack for all ages, especially kids. This recipe is the perfect tea time munchie and will be liked by everyone who enjoys a sweet and crunchy snack. They taste so good when you serve them warm. You can substitute any type of nuts you prefer.

Ingredients

This delicious candied almond recipe is easy to make and requires only six ingredients – Almonds, honey, brown sugar, unsalted butter, cinnamon powder, and red paprika (optional). So yum and easy!

Serving Suggestions

These roasted caramelized almonds can be eaten warm as a sweet snack or served as a salad topper, etc. It is also great to gift your friends and neighbors on different occasions. Just pack them in a  mason jar or cute cellophane bag and give your loved ones an extra special treat they will love!

Storage Suggestions

Once completely cooled, you can store them in an air-tight container for up to 1-2 weeks. Make sure before placing them in a container, they are completely dry. After a few days, they might start to get a bit sticky, so the sooner you consume them the better.

Variations

There are so many variations that can be done with these sweet caramelized Almonds. We can add different flavors by adding cardamom powder or cinnamon or nutmeg powder.

Also, if you love the chocolate flavor, add cocoa powder to make Chocolate Honey Roasted Almonds.

Of course, they’re also freezer-friendly so you can make a big batch and enjoy them for months as a snack, on top of salads, etc.

This recipe will work the same with other types of nuts, such as walnuts, cashews, and pecans.

So, let’s make this super simple and deliciously crunchy roasted caramelized almonds with the detailed recipe below.

Description

Roasted Caramelized Almonds are a healthy, flavorsome, quick, and easy-to-make snack recipe, perfect for all ages, especially kids. It is high in protein and has many nutritional benefits. Here, I am sharing with you honey-spiced almonds. These homemade caramelized candied nuts will surely become your favorite munching snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup almonds
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon red paprika
  • ¼ cup brown sugar

Instructions

  • Heat a heavy bottom pan. Once it’s hot enough, add almonds.
  • Dry roast the almonds for 8-10 minutes on low flame until they turn fragrant and toasted well.
  • Then transfer the almonds to a bowl.
  • In another pan, add 1 tablespoon butter.
  • As the butter melts.
  • Add honey, cinnamon powder, and red pepper powder.
  • Cook it on a low flame till it starts boiling. Once it starts to boil add in the toasted almonds.
  • Cook until the honey syrup is evenly coated over the almonds.
  • Once done, remove it from heat and transfer it into a bowl.
  • Now, sprinkle brown sugar over it.
  • Toss the sugar well evenly over the almonds.
  • Transfer these almonds to parchment paper and spread evenly with the almonds not touching each other.
  • Let it dry completely and then store in air-tight containers.

Notes

  • While roasting the almonds, the flame should be low. If you roast them on high flame, as soon they will be dark in color and not toasted well.
  • Add almonds immediately to the honey syrup, so that honey can be coated evenly to almonds.
  • Once cooled, the almonds can be quite sticky. Toss them a couple of times as they cool, and break apart once cooled before storing. Using parchment paper on a tray, coat lightly with cooking spray before adding almonds. This helps to get almonds not to stick to each other.
  • Store in an air-tight container for up to 1-2 weeks.
  • Prep Time: 05 mins.
  • Cook Time: 15 mins.
