A hot, melted Grilled cheese sandwich, simple sandwich recipe packed with buttery flavor and cheese!

This is an easy grilled cheese sandwich recipe, takes about 10 minutes, the most preferred recipe for breakfast, lunch, or even dinner.

It is a quick and easy-to-make snack that you can make any time of the day, the craving strikes and would be loved by both kids and adults!

You just need some bread slices, butter, and your favorite cheese. It is super yum and gives a taste like garlic bread. The best ever Grilled Cheese Sandwich!

About this Recipe

This classic, simple but delicious Grilled cheese sandwich is one of my favorite morning breakfasts that only require a few basic ingredients as a good loaf of bread (fresh or day-old) mozzarella cheese slice, a bit of softened butter, and flavorful spices and herbs. It is crisp and toasted on the outside and gooey with cheese inside.

There are so many variations and versions of this sandwich, which give amazing taste but this is one of the Best Grilled Cheese sandwich.

Ingredients

In order to make a grilled cheese sandwich you need just a few ingredients:

  • Bread – You can use whatever kind of bread that you want, whole wheat, white, sourdough, etc., use plain white bread for a classic grilled cheese.
  • Cheese – Shredded or sliced are both awesome choices for a great grilled cheese sandwich. You can use any cheese for this sandwich like – cheddar, mozzarella, or even cheese slices.
  • Butter – Use softened unsalted butter, so it spreads smoothly.
  • Garlic powder or you can use finely chopped garlic.
  • Oregano/ mixed herbs and chilli flakes.

To make the sandwiches, use a large skillet (preferably nonstick) or a panini press or griddle to grill them.

Serving Suggestions

I love to serve grilled cheese sandwiches with a bowl of homemade tomato soup or with a salad for a fabulous lunch or dinner or with some crispy baked potato wedges or sweet potato fries. It is best to eat the sandwich right after making it.

So, we’re here to tell you how to make the best-grilled cheese sandwich ever!

Description

A hot, melty Grilled cheese sandwich is a simple sandwich recipe loaded with butter and cheese! This is a quick and easy-to-make snack that you can make any time of the day and would be loved by everyone. You just need some brown bread, butter, and your favorite cheese. It is super yum and taste like garlic bread. The best Grilled Cheese Sandwich!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices white bread
  • 2 slices cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder/finely chopped garlic
  • ½ teaspoon oregano / mixed herbs
  • ½ teaspoon chilli flakes
  • butter (room temperature) as required

Instructions

  • In a bowl, add some butter at room temperature.
  • Now, add garlic powder or chopped garlic, chilli flakes, and oregano/mixed herbs to it. Mix everything well.
  • Spread this mixture generously on one side of the bread.
  • Add cheese slice on the other bread.
  • Seal both bread slices together to make the sandwich.
  • Heat a grill pan/hot tawa. Place the sandwich on it (butter side down).
  • Spread the same prepared mixture on top of the bread.
  • Flip over and grill the other side till crisp and golden brown for about 4-5 minutes.
  • Remove it from the grill pan.
  • Repeat the same process with other bread slices.
  • Cut in halves.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Butter gives a richer flavor to the grilled cheese sandwich and makes it crispier, if you don’t want to use butter, you can switch the butter with olive oil.
  • To make a healthier version, you can use whole wheat bread, oatmeal bread, flaxseed bread, whole grain bread, gluten-free bread, etc., but the most common bread for grilled cheese is white bread and sour bread.
  • Instead of oregano/mixed herbs, you can also use finely chopped coriander leaves.
  • For more cheesy flavor, you can add grated mozzarella cheese instead of a cheese slice. It melts more quickly than a slice of cheese.
