Description

These soft and melt in the mouth texture Malai laddu are a perfect treat for any special occasion. It is made with cottage cheese (paneer) and condensed milk. This recipe is quite simple that can be made in less than 15 minutes.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 250 grams cottage cheese (paneer)
  • ½ cup condensed milk
  • 2–3 drops kewra essence (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Few pistachio for garnishing

Instructions

  • First, crumble the cottage cheese and put it into a mixer jar. 
  • Grind it once.
  • Heat a pan, add the cottage cheese (paneer) and condensed milk. 
  • Continue stirring until the mixture thickens completely.
  • Cook on low flame until the mixture starts to separate from the pan.
  • Further, add ½ tsp cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Turn off the flame and transfer the mixture in a plate
  • Add 2-3 drops of kewra essence and mix well.
  • Let the mixture rest for 5 minutes.
  • After 5 minutes, start making round ladoos from the mixture.
  • Take a small portion from the mixture and press between your palm and then roll to form a round shape
  • Garnish with chopped pistachio.
  • Malai laddu is ready to serve for any special occasion.

Notes

  • Use homemade paneer instead of using store bought paneer.
  • This recipe does not require any extra sugar as the condensed milk contains sweetness. It makes the laddu more rich and creamy.
  • Additionally, you can add your favourite nuts to elevate its flavor and garnish with rose petals and saffron strands, but here I have used kewra water (an extract distilled from the flower of the Pandanus plant) and cardamom.
  • Finally, these laddus can be consumed within a week, you can store them at room temperature.
