- 2 slices cheese
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder/finely chopped garlic
- ½ teaspoon oregano / mixed herbs
- ½ teaspoon chilli flakes
- butter (room temperature) as required
Instructions

- Now, add garlic powder or chopped garlic, chilli flakes, and oregano/mixed herbs to it. Mix everything well.
- Spread this mixture generously on one side of the bread.
- Add cheese slice on the other bread.
- Seal both bread slices together to make the sandwich.
- Heat a grill pan/hot tawa. Place the sandwich on it (butter side down).
- Spread the same prepared mixture on top of the bread.
- Flip over and grill the other side till crisp and golden brown for about 4-5 minutes.
- Remove it from the grill pan.
- Repeat the same process with other bread slices.
- Cut in halves.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Butter gives a richer flavor to the grilled cheese sandwich and makes it crispier, if you don’t want to use butter, you can switch the butter with olive oil.
- To make a healthier version, you can use whole wheat bread, oatmeal bread, flaxseed bread, whole grain bread, gluten-free bread, etc., but the most common bread for grilled cheese is white bread and sour bread.
- Instead of oregano/mixed herbs, you can also use finely chopped coriander leaves.
- For more cheesy flavor, you can add grated mozzarella cheese instead of a cheese slice. It melts more quickly than a slice of cheese.
