Description

Craving a healthier snack that’s crispy, crunchy, and packed with bold flavors? Try this Spicy, Guilt-Free Makhana Namkeen! Coated with a magic masala mix, this snack is not only delicious but also guilt-free. Perfect for when you want a flavorful treat without the extra calories!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups Makhana
  • 2 tbsp Ghee

For the Masala:

  • ¼ tsp Red chili powder

  • ¼ tsp Turmeric powder

  • ¼ tsp Black pepper powder

  • ¼ tsp Roasted cumin powder

  • ½ tsp Dry mango powder (amchur)

  • ½ tsp Garlic powder

  • ½ tsp Onion powder

  • ¼ tsp Black salt

  • ¼ tsp Ginger powder

  • ¼ tsp Salt

  • ½ tsp Powdered sugar

  • ¼ tsp Dried mint powder


Instructions

  • Start by preparing the masala in a small bowl by combining all the dry spices and mixing them well to create an aromatic blend that will enhance the flavor of the makhana
  • Heat a pan on low flame and add one tablespoon of ghee Then add the makhana and roast them slowly stirring continuously until they turn crispy and slightly golden brown This process should take about five to seven minutes
  • Once the makhana is roasted evenly sprinkle the prepared masala mix over them Drizzle one tablespoon of ghee and toss everything well making sure that the spice blend coats each makhana perfectly
  • Your flavorful crunchy and healthy makhana is now ready to be enjoyed. Serve it fresh or store it in an airtight container for later.

Notes

  • Use low heat while roasting makhana to ensure an even crunch without burning them.
  • Adjust the spice level as per your preference by increasing or decreasing the chili powder.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep them crisp for days.
  • Experiment with flavors by adding chaat masala, peri-peri seasoning, or nutritional yeast for a unique twist.
