Health Benefits of Peanuts

  • It contains high level of antioxidants, protein and monounsaturated fats that is good for your heart health.
  • It cleans the blood and keeps you fit.

How to make Salted Peanuts

We always buy salted nuts from the roadside stalls lined up all over the city. After looking this recipe, you can easily make it at home. Here I have shared step-by-step process that how to make salted peanuts at home.

Serving Suggestions

It can be consumed as a snack whenever you get a craving for it. A cup of hot tea and a bowl of crunchy salted peanuts is my favorite combo. It tastes flavorful and exactly like available in the market.

You can store it in an air tight container for a month but it won’t last long as you are going to finish it because of it’s so good in taste.

Variations

I have prepared boiled salted peanuts, where I boil the peanuts before mixing with salt. If you love fried peanuts you can prepare fried salted peanuts where you deep fry the peanuts before adding salt. You can also prepare honey roasted peanuts or tandoori masala peanuts at home.

Hope you will try at home. You’ll love it. Simply delicious!

Let’s get started.

Description

Salted peanuts or roasted peanuts, is a very easy and healthy munching snack for both kids and adults. It is quick, simple and one of my favorite comfort foods that keeps me warm in winter. Whenever, you get a craving for crunchy peanuts, can be made at home easily within minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup raw peanuts
  • 3 cups boiled water
  • 1 cup + 1 tablespoon salt

Instructions

  • Boil 3 cups water. Once, it’s boiled, add 1 tablespoon salt and peanuts. Give a good mix.
  • Turn off the flame.
  • Cover and let the peanuts soak for 10 minutes.
  • Next, strain the peanuts in a colander and transfer them to a mixing bowl. Let it cool off.
  • In a heavy bottom pan, take one cup of salt and heat it at medium-high flame.
  • Continue mixing for even heating.
  • Add the peanuts and mix them well for 2-3 minutes.
  • Then reduce the flame and roast them for at least 10-15 minutes until it becomes crunchy.
  • Turn off the heat and allow it to cool completely.
  • Sieve it and take out the excess salt.
  • Salted peanuts are ready.
  • Store in an air-tight container.

Notes

  • Make sure, use raw peanuts of good quality.
  • These salted peanuts are best to serve your guest before dinner. Always roast peanuts in a large quantity and store them in an air-tight container.
  • Adding too much salt while boiling makes these peanuts very salty. While roasting, take a good amount of salt so that you can roast the peanuts properly.
  • If you love fried peanuts you can prepare fried salted peanuts where you deep fry the peanuts before adding salt.
